Adobe released this tool in a low-key manner, but the Internet has hailed it as a revolutionary post-production tool. Some commentators went as far as to announced the death of ultra-high-resolution sensors. Clickbait was extensive, and the hyperbole was real. This made me think.

Why do we need super resolution?

100mp sensors are available, but not at a price that is affordable for amateur photographers. These sensors are found in professional medium format cameras. This is because only professional photographers who work in high-end commercial photography need such a resolution.

The majority of us live in the world of 24mp sensors. To be honest, for most enthusiasts and professionals this is enough.
