What is Still Life Photography?
Inanimate objects can be photographed in still life photography. It’s usually a single or group of objects with a relationship to each other.
Food photography, product photographs, etc. are some examples of still-life photography. This genre has taken on many forms throughout the years. This genre of photography is characterized by creativity and artistic flair in its choice of subject and lighting.
What makes still life photography special?
The photographer can create their own design because they are dealing with an inanimate object. Other genres of photography such as landscape photography or street photography are more difficult to control. The photographer is limited to the elements available, the subjects, the light, and so on.
What are some subjects that would be suitable for still life photography?
For still life photography, it is important to choose the right subjects. To capture an engaging photograph, you need to first have a story or idea in mind. Then, execute that creatively and effectively. Still life photography can include natural objects such as plants, fruits and vegetables, shells and rocks, but also man-made items like pots, wares or food, books, everyday objects etc.
