You may have heard that Light Stalking now has its own monthly photo competition. The grand prize is $250. This competition’s first theme is ” Spirit of the Earth”. You can enter by clicking here.
We thought it would be fun to do something, so we have come up with seven reasons why we think that you should enter our competition.
1. Winners receive cash
We are one of a few companies that offer cold, hard cash. (Well, it is via Paypal but you get the idea). The winner will receive $250. It’s one of the rare places on the Internet where you can win money for being a good photographer. We also have prizes in kind, but the winner of this contest will receive cash. (Gimme da cash)
2. Join the best community
Entering this competition will allow you to join one of the most closely-knit groups of photographers on the Internet. Many of these people are on the site for over a decade and are among the most friendly and helpful people when it comes to assisting you in your photography journey. Weekly challenges, friendly critiques, and lots of banter are all part of our weekly challenge. Many people have made the journey from rank beginners to prize-winners. We would love to meet with you!
3. You can choose to aim for artistic excellence, technical perfection or pure popularity
The competition offers a prize to recognize technical and artistic excellence, as determined by professionals. It also includes a “People’s Choice Award”, which is open for voting by all of our members. This means that you can still submit photos that are fun and enjoyable while still being eligible for a reward.
4. Your interpretation is as valid as ours.
It’s a great way to spark your creativity. The monthly theme (such as “Spirit of the Earth”) will help you get started. Themes might lend themselves well to certain types of photos (landscapes are a good example for “Spirit of the Earth”) but we love to see how creatively people interpret them. You don’t need to worry about drawing within the lines or overthinking it.
5. Your work will be seen
We will feature the best photos on the website. If you are not familiar with our blog, it has been in the top 10 for more than a decade. We have been featured by NASA, National Geographic and The New York Times. People see our work. Lots. I’m a bit of a big thing.
6. You get Bonus… Stuff
You will receive a lot of goodies when you enter the competition. You will receive a lot of learning materials, including photography blueprints, drills and other tools. We want you to succeed in competitions such as this one, so we provide you with the tools to help you get there. It’s a constant stream of challenges and drills to help you improve your performance!
7. You can improve quickly by competing.
Join a competition if you want to improve at something! Many of us do it just for fun. But if you really want to measure your progress against others, this is the perfect way to do so.
